I was conceived at a very young age and then born on my birthday. As I grew up I always seemed to find my way back to the ocean. It truly felt like home, no wonder I decided that I wanted to be a marine researcher. I could swim before I could walk! Some of my passions include SCUBA diving, Weight lifting, Kick Boxing, and visiting art museums.

This is one of my favorite pieces from the Portland Museum of Art, it is titled “Maybe” because maybe it is art by maybe it is trash and rubbish the artist threw into the gallery. It depends on what you see in this piece.
One of my favorite things about college has been my lab position. I work in Crab Lab west at UNE under the direction of Dr. Frederich. Working in a lab is a dream come true. I have always wanted to have my own space and my own research, it is so rewarding to have something that I am passionate about.
Did you know my ENG 110 teacher has a band called All Night Low, look them up on facebook!
I think that one of the most important things is to stay positive, and college can be really stressful so I like leaving little positive messages on my whiteboard to try and make people laugh. As of writing this, the current one is “Life should be easy peasy lemon squeezy not stress depressed lemon zest, let your self rest and good luck on finals”.
I learned how to SCUBA dive when I was 15 so I could go to Honduras and do research dives. I actually ended up turning 16 in Honduras and it was the best experience ever, I got to do all the things I love on my birthday and I had such a great day. It is probably one of my favorites memories to date and if given the chance I will talk about it forever.
