Q: “I could not tell,- it mounted me, apparently, with as much ease as if I had been horizontal instead of perpendicular. It was as though it were some gigantic spider,- a spider of the nightmares; a monstrous conception of some dreadful vision. It presses lightly against my clothing with what might, for all the world, have been spider’s legs. There was an amazing host of them,- I felt the pressure of each separate one. They embraced me softly, Sickly as if the creature glued and unglued them, each time it moved.”
C: This is the first book in this class that I have gone into completely blind. I have never heard of this book, let alone its author, this is exciting! I chose this quote because It gave me chills. As a kid growing up lifting up rocks and digging in the mud I have picked up my fair share of beetles. I think this description is on point with how it feels. Now I’m imagining this thing being like 1-2ft tall, and crawling up me, that’s HORRID… I love it. It sets the mood for the book so well.
Q: What are the chances it is a Beetle? (EDIT: as I’m in class, is the man in the bed a mummy???)
